Türkei IV: Bodrum-Antalya - 1.-11. Oktober 2013

„WOW“ kann ich nur sagen angesichts der überwältigend schönen Mittelmeerküste der Türkei. Ich spare mir blumige Beschreibungen lasse und lieber die Bilder für sich sprechen. Toll waren auch die lykischen Ruinenstätten, von denen Unmengen entlang des Weges stehen. Letztlich habe ich mir davon zum einen Myra angeschaut, welches für seine Felsengräber berühmt ist und dazu noch die Wirkungsstätte des historischen St. Nikolaus war. Und zum anderen war ich für ein paar Tage bei den Ruinen von Olympos. Die Ruinen stehen in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Strand, an dem man wunderbar ausspannen kann. Dort bin ich zwei volle Tage lang geblieben und habe die Ruhe und entspannte Atmosphäre genossen.

Dank Couchsurfing und Warmshowers (das Pendant zu Couchsurfing, speziell für Tourenradler) konnte ich für einige Nächte privat übernachten, und es war jedes Mal ein tolles Erlebnis. Meine Gastgeber waren einfach klasse!

Nach Antalya bin ich per Bus die Küste entlang ins knapp 600 km entfernte Mersin gereist, da ich nicht genug Zeit habe, die komplette Strecke mit dem Fahrrad zurückzulegen. Östlich von Mersin beginnen allmählich die Kurdengebiete. Die Grenzen zu Syrien und Irak sind nicht mehr weit.

Es wird spannend.

"WOW" I can only say in the face of the overwhelmingly beautiful Mediterranean coast of Turkey. I 'll save my flowery descriptions and prefer the pictures to speak for themselves. Also outstanding were the the Lycian ruins of which there are countless along the way. Ultimately, I 've looked at it for a Myra, which is famous for its rock tombs and which was the domain of the historic Santa Claus. Furthmerore, I was for a few days at the ruins of Olympos. The ruins are very close to the beach, where you can completely relax. I stayed there for two full days and enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
Thanks to Couchsurfing and Warmshowers (the counterpart to couchsurfing, specifically for touring cyclists ) I could for a few nights stay private, and each time it was a great experience. My hosts were just great!

From Antalya, I traveled by bus heading east, along the coast to the almost 600 km away Mersin, since I do not have enough time to cover the whole route by bicycle. East of Mersin, the Kurdish areas gradually begin. The borders with Syria and Iraq are not far off.

It is becoming interesting.
